About the FAIMous Felines Shop

What is it?

The FAIMous Felines Shop, while lighthearted, supports efforts to battle a serious medical problem that affects a great many cats -- Feline Asthma. The shop is an outgrowth of FAIM -- the Feline Asthma Inhaled Medication Users Group that was formed in 2002 to encourage discussion among pet guardians and caregivers, veterinarians, and product developers. By providing a meeting place for combined knowledge, we hope to positively influence the future of our beloved asthmatic felines and for those to come.

How does my purchase help?

All proceeds from our shop go directly to support FAIM's efforts, including a public website with future database (FAIMousFelines.org, currently under construction) that that will help track and compare FAIM members' lifetime health and asthma management. FAIMousFelines.org will also provide an educational and comparative resource for veterinarians and caregivers seeking information on how real-life cats and their guardians are coping with this life-long chronic disease, which for some cats begins as early as age one.

Where do you produce your FAIMous merchandise?

We have partnered with CafePress.com, a privately held, venture-backed company located in San Leandro, California, to produce quality items with designs to get our message out. CafePress manages the production, payment and shipping of FAIMous Felines merchandise so that we can provide the best possible service. My cat has been coughing. How can I find out more about Feline Asthma?

Coughing does not necessarily mean asthma. A veterinarian should examine your cat. If you are new to feline asthma and are looking for general info on symptoms, triggers, diagnostic tests, medications, prognosis etc., please check out Feline Asthma with Fritz the Brave. It gives a wonderful overview of feline asthma related topics and is respected by the leading feline respiratory specialists worldwide.
